Introducing Bedrud: Self-Hosted Video Meetings in One Command

We're launching Bedrud - a single-binary, open-source video meeting platform that runs on any $5 VPS with 512MB RAM.

2026年2月15日 Bedrud Team announcement, launch

Video meetings shouldn’t require a DevOps team to set up. We built Bedrud because we were tired of choosing between expensive per-seat pricing and self-hosted solutions that need 8+ Docker containers.

One Binary. One Command.

curl -fsSL https://get.bedrud.org | bash

That’s it. Sixty seconds later, Bedrud is running on your server. No Docker Compose, no Kubernetes, no config files. A single binary that handles WebRTC media, signaling, and the web UI.

Built for Developers

  • WebRTC media server with adaptive bitrate and sub-second latency
  • REST API for programmatic room management
  • Bot SDK (Go) for building meeting automation
  • Native apps for Web (React), Android (Kotlin), and iOS (Swift)

Why Now?

The video meeting market is broken. You either pay per seat to a cloud vendor, or you spend a weekend configuring Jitsi’s 8-container Docker setup. There’s no middle ground.

Bedrud is that middle ground. Open source (Apache 2.0), single binary, runs on hardware you already have.

What’s Next

We’re just getting started. Here’s what’s on the roadmap:

  • Recording - Meeting recording to your server storage
  • Transcription - Real-time transcription via bot agents
  • LDAP/AD - Enterprise directory integration
  • Broadcast mode - One-to-many streaming for webinars

Try it today and let us know what you think on GitHub or Discord.
